A group of 14 accessions of the most distributed sweetpotato germplasm at the International Potato Center (CIP) Genebank was selected according to the national and international distribution records requested from the farmers, breeders, and universities in the last five years.
The CIP conserves one of the largest collections of sweetpotato germplasm as a public good under the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) with 5,620 accessions conserved in vitro. This sweetpotato germplasm is available for distribution to users interested in using the material for research, training, and breeding purposes.
