Where do accessions come from?

This section groups passport data according to the provenance of the material. If an accession was collected in the field during the course of a collecting expedition, then its provenance is the country of the collecting site. When the material is bred or developed by an international organization, its provenance is the ISO code of the institute. In addition to providing an overview of the taxonomy and number of accessions, these pages also list the genebanks in each country according to the FAO WIEWS database, and whether or not they are data providers to Genesys.

Note: The provenance of material is documented at the level of individual accessions and depends on the information that genebanks choose to share publicly on Genesys.
