The CIMMYT ICARDA AUSTRALIA Germplasm Exchange (CAIGE) program has systematically characterized and evaluated wheat materials introduced into Australia. Synthetic wheat hexaploids (xTriticoaegilops spp.) identified hereiin were developed by Dr. A. Mujeeb-Kazi (CIMMYT) who also identified that they harbor a wide diversity for multiple traits.
The materials in this list were found to be tolerant to one or more of the following pathogens: Cereal Cyst Nematode (Heterodera avenae), Crown Root (Fusarium pseudograminearum), Fusarium head blight (F. graminearum), Helminthosporium leaf blotch (Cochliobolus sativus), Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica), Root Lesion Nematode (Pratylenchus thornei), Pratylenchus neglectus, Septoria nodorum, Septoria tritici, Leaf rust, Stem rust, Stripe rust, Yellow Leaf Spot (Pyrenophora tritici-repentis).
