A set of near-isogenic lines based on a selection of the widely susceptible Australian spring wheat cultivar Avocet was developed in Plant Breeding Institute, University of Sydney.
Stripe rust (Puccinia striiformis) can attack wheat, barley, triticale, and many other related grasses. The disease is found in all highland and/or temperate areas where cereals are grown.
