Bacterial blight is one of the most devastating diseases in many rice-growing regions and can result in yield losses of up to 50% in West Africa. It is caused by various pathogens of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo). Resistance to bacterial blight is determined by both race-specific genes and quantitative trait loci, with over 45 race-specific resistance genes (designated with the prefixes Xa or xa for Xanthomonas) reported by Neelam et al., (2020). The Rice Biodiversity Center for Africa (RBCA) team identified 50 accessions that carry one or two BLB resistance QTLs using several DArTseq SNPs including xa13_1, xa13_2, chr11_21190115, xa4_2, Xa7_1, and Xa7_2, located on rice chromosomes 8, 11, and 6, respectively. This mini collection consists of 40 Oryza sativa and 10 Oryza glaberrima accessions, distinct from the previous BLB resistant minicore set published
