Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) is one of the major legume crops grown in the semi-arid tropical regions and major protein source for more than billion people in the world. Owing to biotic and abiotic stress there is considerable reduction in productivity. Salinity is an ever-increasing abiotic stress to the cultivated land, which strongly affects N2 fixation, plant growth, development, and yield. A large set of pigeonpea genotypes which were collected from putative saline areas of Bangladesh, Taiwan, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Argentina, Iran, and Brazil, including mini core were screened and identified tolerance sources for salinity at ICRISAT. The ICRISAT Genebank conserve the largest collection of pigeonpea and this subset contains list of salinity tolerance accessions available at ICRISAT Genebank for their utilization in pigeonpea improvement.
