Finger millet (Eleusine coracana L. Gaertn.) is an important dryland cereal crop widely cultivated in Africa and South Asia. Soil salinity is one of the major factors limiting the productivity of crop plants and the area of land affected by it is increasing globally. Crop plants were shown to differ greatly in their tolerance. Finger millet is a potential crop for salt-affected soils. The mini core collection of finger millet (n = 80) was screened for grain yield performance in a soil saturated with NaCl solution of 100 or 125 mM and untreated control, to understand the extent of variability and identify accessions tolerance to salinity (Krishnamurthy et al., 2014). This subset provides a list of finger millet accessions identified as salinity tolerance for use in crop improvement.
