Aromatic Accessions by presence of 2AP

These 313 varieties from 17 countries were classified as aromatic through the presence of 2-Acetyl-1-pyrroline (2AP). 279 of them carried the fgr allele, but 15 varieties from nine countries did not, and 19 were mixtures (fgr/nfgr). This finding is based on a study done by Dr. Melissa Fitzgerald, Dr. Ruaraidh Sackville Hamilton, et al, and in the published article 'Is there a second fragrance gene in rice?'
