The Environmental Genome-Wide Association Study (EnvGWAS) is a method used to identify genetic variants linked to traits influenced by environmental factors. In a study, environmental data from 3,050 curated cassava landraces with collection site coordinates, combined with genotypic information, were analyzed to discover candidate SNP markers associated with drought or/and heat tolerance. These markers were then used to predict accessions most likely to exhibit tolerance to drought or heat due to their high frequency of favorable alleles. Based on preliminary results, a list of 52 accessions predicted in silico is proposed for further validation.
