Backcrossed inbred lines (BILs) are derived from the repeated backcrossing of a line with another line. Backcross breeding enables breeders to transfer a desired trait such as a transgene from one variety (donor parent, DP) into the favored genetic background of another (recurrent parent, RP). This subset contains BILs involving IR 64 and IR 74 with Nipponbare, and IRRI 154 with crop wild relative (CWR) accessions from the IRRI Genebank.
