Subset of Urochloa sp. accessions from the CIAT Collection identified as sexual reproduction mode

The reproduction mode of Urochloa sp. accessions was assessed using conventional polymerase chain reaction (cPCR) with primers P779 and P780, following the method described by Worthington et al. (2016). DNA was extracted from samples collected from the in vivo collection. The lack of DNA amplification in 88 accessions suggests that these accessions reproduce sexually. This subset includes accessions from the following species: U. ruziziensis (38), U. decumbens (27), U. brizantha (8), U. jubata (5), U. humidicola (3), U. arrecta (3), U. dura (2), U. plantaginea (1), and U. subquadripara (1).
