Fruit: size, 8-9 cm standard, mottled dark red over green; only fair dessert and flavor; cooking, good keeper; ripens early October, rather late for prairie provinces; flesh bruises from hail, Walter Manchester notes.."Not satisfactory in cold regions unless given good wind break protection and top worked into a hardy early maturing host tree." "A little tender, but a good apple" say Coutts. Introduced in 1961.
