Pole bean with weak climbing tendency. Can be grown without support. Plants generally grow 1-2' tall with some vines exceeding 2'. Straight green pods become yellow as they mature and develop red stripes. Pods have a long beak. Suture string present. Not recommended as a snap bean. Pink or light purple flowers. Leathery podded dry pods. Plump shelling (horticultural) beans have a dry, baked potato-like texture. Dry beans have a soft texture and standard flavor. Oval, white seeds of the white marrow type. Mid-season maturing.
