Bush bean, 8-13" tall. Green stems and leaves. Light pink flowers. Pods green when flat, yellow with red blush and stripes at shelling stage. Pods are pear-shaped in cross section, straight, with medium, straight beaks. Mature pods 3.5-4.5" long, 0.5-0.7" wide. Tender snap bean when flat, inedible when fully expanded. 2-5 seeds per pod. Seeds marbled, cream base with maroon pattern. Mid-season maturity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. first listed in the 1992 yearbook by Russell Libby (ME LI R2) who obtained the variety from Clayton Davis
originally developed by Mr. Cony Grant who farmed near Solon, ME
Grant died in the 1930s when he was in his eighties
the variety has since been maintained by several local families including Davis, Adams and Robinson
