The Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute is the latest Genesys Data Provider.

The genebank of the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute (EBI) is based in Addis Ababa and was established in 1976. It currently conserves over 88,000 accessions of local farmers’ varieties and wild species collected by the institute. The number of accessions is increasing though, as new collections are added to the genebank, mainly from areas that were not addressed in previous germplasm collection expeditions.

The team at the Crop Trust welcomes EBI as the newest Genesys data provider, and will be sharing updates when the first batch of their data is made publicly accessible through the platform.
