Data from the National Agricultural Research Center in Jordan uses a new FAO InstituteCode: JOR105
Previously hosted under the institute code JOR015, the passport data of the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) in Jordan is now under JOR105 in Genesys. You can access information on almost 5,000 accessions on the landing page of NARC.
This change affects all who aggregate passport data from different sources for their analysis, so please keep this change in mind. The other example of such change in Genesys was the change from SYR002 to LBN002 for ICARDA data a few years ago.
More than 17,000 national, regional and international institutes, NGOs and private organizations engaged in the conservation and sustainable use of PGRFA are registered by FAO and assigned a WIEWS Institute Code (INSTCODE). The INSTCODE is used worldwide in the exchange of information about germplasm conserved in genebanks as an identifier for organizations.
