The Genesys 2023 annual report and 2024 workplan are now available online. Here is a brief overview.

In 2023, Genesys saw substantial growth on many fronts: with 535 new user sign-ups, 246 facilitated material requests to partner genebanks and an addition of 13 national partners. Moreover, 81% of accessions were kept up-to-date, with support provided to 36 genebanks for data validation and upload.

Searchable trait datasets were integrated into Genesys, and the Subsetting Tool was officially launched at the beginning of 2023. Additionally, Embedded Genesys was adopted by several genebanks, with updates based on user feedback. Genesys maintained active communication through blog posts, newsletters, and advisory committee meetings. Read the full report here.

Looking ahead to 2024, Genesys focuses on multilingual support, aiming to make Genesys available in Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. The plan also includes further engagement with existing data providers, expanding the network of participating genebanks, and educating users on maximizing the platform's utility.
