Our material request form has been updated based on feedback from our partner genebanks.

We are happy to announce several important updates to our material request form that will make it easier for users to submit their requests while ensuring that genebanks receive the necessary information to understand the purpose behind each request. Here is how it now looks like:

Email address no longer required in Easy SMTA

One of the most significant changes is that users are no longer required to have their email addresses registered in Easy SMTA to submit a material request. We understand that this previous requirement could be a barrier for some users, and we are committed to making our resources as accessible as possible.

Justification requirement enhanced

To help genebanks better understand the purpose of each material request, we have implemented a new requirement for users to provide a detailed justification. Users must now write at least 100 characters explaining why they are requesting the material. This ensures that the genebanks have sufficient context to evaluate the request and prioritize resources effectively. A clear and concise justification will help streamline the approval process and ensure that materials are distributed appropriately.

Personal or work-related requests

We recognize that users may request materials for various reasons, whether personal or work-related. To better categorize and manage these requests, users must now indicate whether their request is for personal or professional purposes. This information helps us understand the context of the request and tailor our support accordingly.

Provision of address

In addition to specifying the nature of the request, users must also provide the related address. Whether the request is for personal use at home or professional use at a research institution, having the correct address information ensures that materials are delivered accurately and efficiently.

We appreciate your cooperation and feedback as we continue to improve our processes. If you have any questions or need assistance with the new form, please don’t hesitate to contact helpdesk@genesys-pgr.org
