Characterization of maize accessions in Kiboko (Kenya)
Maize accessions were planted in Kiboko and assessed for their morphological diversity. The results indicate that the maize accessions held at genebank are variable interms of kernel characteristics, plant height and days to maturity.

Mean height of 10 random plants, measured from the ground level to the tip of the head taken after flowering and before ripening.
Mean height of 10 random plant ears from the ground level to the node bearing the upper ear.
Number of days from planting to when 50% of the plants have extended silk.
Midrib colour of the third leaf counted from flag leaf downwards taken during or shortly after flowering.
