Arracacha accessions with chromosome number determined

The chromosome number and ploidy level of 36 accessions from the Arracacha (Arracacia xanthorrhiza) collection from the CIP genebank were determined in meristematic cells of roots sprouted from stem cuttings using an optical microscope. All accessions were tetraploid (2n=4x=44). The CIP arracacha collection will continue to be evaluated and the existence of accessions with other ploidy levels is not ruled out.
