Evaluation of rice accessions for bacterial leaf blight (BLB) during the main planting season 2015/2016
This dataset contains information about rice accessions screened for resistance to bacterial leaf blight (BLB). These accessions are currently conserved at MARDI’s rice genebank. Plant breeders and scientists use the information contained in this dataset for identifying potential rice accessions to be included in their plant breeding programs. The evaluation was performed in the field during the main planting season 2015/2016.

The incidence is evaluated in the field by artificial inoculation of Xanthomonas oryzae bacteria suspension at 1 x 108 CFU/ml during booting stage (50-55 DAS) using clipping technique (Kauffman et al., 1973). Disease reaction was assessed based on percentage of leaf area diseased using a 0-9 scale as described by IRRI (2014; Standard Evaluation System for Rice, Fifth Edition).
