Genesys and the MCPD CROPNAME descriptor
Genesys now allows data providers to specify the CROPNAME when uploading accession passport data. Genesys had previously used taxonomic information to assign an accession to a crop. With this update, genebanks are able to precisely specify accession's crop name instead of relying on complicated taxonomic rules.
Data providers should use the 1.1 version of Genesys Anno tool which supports the CROPNAME descriptor.
