Pearl millet diversity tree

A diversity tree is a representation of the overall structure of crop diversity obtained by dividing the diversity within a crop genepool in a hierarchical manner. The original idea was proposed by Van Treuren et al (2009) The structure of the tree is based on published information and consultation with experts.

The Pearl Millet diversity tree was first done in 2019 as part of the work conducted for the Genebank Platform. It was updated in 2021 after receiving further feedback during the development of the new Global conservation strategy for millets.
