Marula (Sclerocarya birrea) is a tree species that occurs naturally across a wide range of semi-arid areas in sub-Sahara Africa. The fruits of marula have high Vitamin C content and are consumed either fresh or processed into beverages and jams, while the kernels yield an edible oil that is also used in personal care products.

Marula evaluation subset lists accessions from an international provenance trial that have consistently shown overall superior growth and productivity.

Marula fruits are consumed fresh or processed into beverages or jams from the fruit pulp. Accessions in Big Marula fruits subset belong to three diverse populations identified from an international provenance evaluation that produce big, heavy fruits and have high pulp:fruit weight ratio.
